The culmination of her photographic work already announced it; Iseult Labote had only one step to take to move on to three-dimensionality and the direct use of construction materials. Still in the same vein of exalting the intrinsic beauty of these materials, the artist created four series of ready-mades. Peripheral blue strips rolled up and placed in boxes are grouped under the title “Variations in Blue.”

A second series, “Tamiseurs,” was created from sieve grids on which she inscribed numbers. With “Empreintes,” Iseult Labote pays homage to both Niele Toroni and conceptual art: on mesh plates, she forms the initials of the world’s great art museums with screws and bolts of various shapes. Finally, a stack of extruded polystyrene plates of different colors and thicknesses creates bas-reliefs that she titled “Strates.”
